Our modern landfills are taking the equivalent of over 250, 000 cars off the road each year.
Waste Management has been granted resource consents for the development of Auckland Regional Landfill, subject to many conditions.
Today the vibrant city of Auckland has 1.6 million residents and is still growing. Projections show the population will reach 2.5 million by 2041, and there is a significant amount of work required to establish the infrastructure needed to deal with this growth.
All appeals against the resource consent decision have now been lodged with the Environment Court.
