Waste Management Sustainability offers a carbon reporting service.
We can deliver a monthly report which provides your company’s Scope 3 / Category 4 emissions associated with landfill disposal. The carbon data is provided in tCO2e, with the methodology for producing the carbon footprint report and its associated GHG emissions being independently verified by Toitū Envirocare.
Climate change means it's incredibly important for businesses to understand how their daily operations are contributing to New Zealand's emissions profile. When you understand your company’s carbon footprint, you can then put in place a carbon reduction plan.
Emissions associated with waste disposal is a Scope 3 / Category 4 emission, which can be very difficult to calculate. A significant amount of time and resources are required to collect the data, keep an updated emission factor database, link the right landfill to the right tonnage and perform the carbon emission calculation.
Geographical footprint, multiple landfill options and ever-changing emission factors add further layers of complexity.
Waste Management offers a subscription service which details your company’s Scope 3 / Category 4 emissions associated with landfill disposal. This information is available as a monthly report and offers a single touchpoint for all your waste data ensuring it’s accurate, verified and compatible for your carbon reporting requirements. Your business will be able to track your monthly carbon profile associated with waste disposal and see how waste reduction programmes can play a positive role in reducing emissions.
The carbon data is provided in tCO2e, with the methodology for producing the carbon footprint report and its associated GHG emissions being independently verified by Toitū Envirocare. The report itself is suitable for use in an ISO 14064 1:2018 compliant inventory, including a Toitū carbonreduce or Toitū carbonzero certified inventory.
Waste Management utilises its own Emission Factor database, which includes factors from the Ministry for the Environment, as well as Unique Emission Factors. In addition, the utilisation of our operational data to take multiple landfills options into account ensures we use the most accurate database possible when making the carbon calculations.
This service will provide you with a monthly report outlining your carbon data for waste.
