Despite Auckland's infamous rain showers, spirits remained high at the annual Round the Bays event this past Sunday. The downpour didn't deter 93 enthusiastic participants from proudly donning the red WM New Zealand shirts, providing Aucklanders with a sneak peek of the company's new brand, albeit a sopping wet one!
One of the most heartwarming aspects of the event was the presence of WM team members from out of town. Mel Ngati and colleagues from the Hamilton branch made the journey from the Waikato region to join in the race. Equally inspiring was the attendance of Sean Cronin and his daughter Madison, who traveled all the way from Queenstown.
Participants showcased a variety of paces, with some opting to walk, while others jogged or ran.
The success of the event would not have been possible without the dedication and hard work of individuals like Gracie Chen, Jackie Tanielu, Simon Gay, Cliff Griffiths, and Reece, who all played pivotal roles in making the day a success. Additionally, a heartfelt thank you goes out to everyone who joined the team at the BBQ, where delicious catering, mouthwatering burgers, and refreshing drinks fostered a fantastic atmosphere despite the weather.
As participants crossed the finish line and enjoyed the post-race festivities, it was evident that a little rain couldn't dampen their spirits.
