Registrations are now open for Clean Up Week 2023. Get your friends, family, school, business, local community or youth group together and be part of New Zealand’s largest movement against litter.
Clean Up Week 2023 will run from 16-22 September, kicking off on World Clean Up Day!
In 2022, Keep New Zealand Beautiful had a record-breaking 67,400 volunteers take part, collecting a total of 655 tonnes of waste over an area equivalent to 5,751 rugby fields.
Free waste disposal of the litter you collect
By registering for Clean Up Week you’ll gain access to FREE waste disposal of your litter at selected refuse transfer stations across the country thanks to Waste Management, Enviro NZ, and some local councils.
To access and use the transfer stations outlined below for free, all Clean Up Week Event Coordinators need to register their event with Keep New Zealand Beautiful.
Once registered, the Event Coordinator will receive a digital token to use during the week.
The transfer stations below will accept both general litter and recycling during Clean Up Week and up until 15 October 2023.
All recycling MUST be clean, sorted, and placed into designated recycling cages on-site.
Contaminated recycling will be treated as general waste.
