Three of our recent graduates, Michaela Zaugg, Muriel Van Meel, and Daniel Cho, have offered an insightful glimpse into their early careers with WM New Zealand. Since joining us in February as part of our Graduate Programme, they’ve quickly become integral members of our team.
Michaela Zaugg, our Sustainability Graduate, has transitioned from a background in animal care to a role focused on environmental impact. Michaela shared that her days are dynamic, filled with varied projects and meetings. She appreciates the supportive team culture, which includes activities like tree planting that help build strong relationships. Her advice for students includes seizing opportunities and gaining practical experience early on.
Daniel Cho, an Electrical Engineering Graduate, works on advancing our electric trucks. His projects include developing a Power BI dashboard for real-time EV data and improving safety features for older models. Daniel emphasises staying curious, managing time effectively, and taking initiative as key strategies for success in his field.
Muriel Van Meel, a Supply Chain Graduate, detailed her busy days starting at 7:00 am. Her role involves collaborating on large-scale projects and managing logistics. Muriel values effective communication within her team and enjoys the variety in her daily tasks.
These graduates exemplify the passion and dedication we value at WM. They are not only contributing to our operations but also embodying the spirit of continuous improvement and teamwork.
A big thank you to Michaela, Muriel, and Daniel for sharing their experiences and helping inspire future graduates to explore opportunities with WM.
