Important changes ahead for your WM New Zealand service

You may be aware that Marlborough District Council (MDC) is introducing rates-funded kerbside waste collections for most households. This will take effect from 1 July 2024 and will include general waste, mixed recycling, and glass recycling.  

As you are eligible for the council service, we’ll discontinue your existing WM New Zealand service, and your final collection will be on the week of 24 June.   

Alternatively, if you need a supplementary service, you can sign up now for our new fortnightly kerbside subscription. This will start on 8 July and alternate weeks with council collections.  

What do you need to do? 

  • Keep your bin. If you want to keep your WM bin, you can sign up now at wmnz.co.nz/generalwaste or by contacting our customer service team.  
  • Cancel your service. If you won’t need your WM service from 1 July, leave your empty bin out after your final collection and we’ll remove it within 5 days. 

If you have prepaid or are owed any money on your account, this will be refunded to the bank account or credit card you last used to pay. We’ll aim to do this before the end of June.  

If you have already contacted us about cancellation, discontinued your service or received a refund for this, please disregard this notice.
