An update on your WM New Zealand service   

You may be aware that Marlborough District Council (MDC) is introducing rates-funded kerbside waste collections for most households. This will take effect from 1 July 2024 and will include general waste, mixed recycling, and glass recycling.  

As you are not eligible for council service, there will be no change to your existing WM New Zealand service, and we’ll continue to collect your bin as normal from 1 July. If this changes we’ll be in touch.  

Please know, there will be a few small changes to the way we collect your bin: 

  • Our door-to-door service is no longer available. We want to make our collections safer and more efficient for both you and our drivers. From 1 July, please leave your bin kerbside by 7 am on your collection day.  
  • From 1 July, our plastic bin liners will be discontinued; we can still collect your waste without these. Removing single-use plastic will also make your service more sustainable.
